自我について：第二自我/第三自我
自我について：第二自我/第三自我
苦しいことや、悲しいことがあるときに、いつも思い出すのは、
18歳のときに、1学年上の先輩Kさんが教えてくれたことです。
彼女は、すこしかわったひとで、哲学的なことや、人生のことをよく考えているひとでした。
あるときに、心幼い私にこう言いました。
ねー、こういうことを知っている？
人にはねー、自我というものがあるのよ--自分を意識する心ねー
生まれて3-4歳にもなると、自我が生まれてくる--
そして、13-4歳になると、第二自我というものが、こころの中に成長して生まれてくるの--
第二自我というのはね-第一自我＝自分を客観的に上から見つめて、
ある行動をしている自分を見つめて、自分が正しい方向に進んでいるのかどうか、
を判断し、吟味し、反省する自分なのねーー
ここまでは、誰でも成長すると、できることなのね」」

つぎに、かの女が語ったことは、すごく驚く内容であった--
誰でも、20歳くらいになってくると、もうひとつの
自我＝第三自我というものが生まれてくる。これは、できる人とできない人があるらしい。
まず自我＝そうしてその自我を上からじっと見つめていて、それを監視していて、
評価し、観察する第二自我、そして、その反省している第二自我をさらに上から、見ている自我（＝第三自我）は、第二自我の吟味・反省が正しく正当であるかを吟味しているわけである。
こういった自我の存在のことを聞いたことが
なかったので、すごく驚き、この先輩のことは
いまもすごく尊敬している。
Concerning Ego；Existence of the Second Ego and the Third Ego:
When I was eighteen years old, just when I was a freshman in college, my senior
Ms.K taught me something that still remains in my mind.
She was a little strange person who is interested in philosophy and a philosophical view of
life.
Once, she said to me, who was still too childish in mind,
"Kaoru, have you ever heard about the Third Ego?"
Any person who has reached her age of three or four has Ego, consciousness of her own self.
And when she reaches thirteen to fourteen, the second kind of consciousness grows up inside
her mind. It is called the Second Ego and it objectively observes from above what the First Ego says and-or behaves and reflects and scrutinizes whether you are walking into a rght direction or not. All of us can grow up until this stage.
Then she said something still more surprising;
For some persons who come of age, another kind of self consciousness called the Third Ego grows up in mind. Some have this consciousness, but others don't.
To summerize the above;
First there is Ego;
Then there is the Second Ego, which carefully watches yourself, the First Ego,from the above, evaluates you, and critically observes you.
Then comes up the Third Ego, which some persons have but other persons do not have,
which looks down upon the Second Ego from the above,
This Third Ego works in order to scrutinize whether what your Second Ego scrutinizes and reflects is correct and right.
Just because I had not heard of anything about the existence of Ego like this, I was startled
and came to respect and love my senior more and more and after many years later I still respect
her!
